SAVE THE CHILDREN:
Save the Children International PVO 03/2002 is the world’s leading independent organization for children. Our mission is to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.
SC is inviting applications for the following positions in preparation for an anticipated USAID project providing support to orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) in selected districts within Zimbabwe. These positions require experience in managing large scale USAID funded projects at a senior level, experience in OVC programming and are contingent on the issuance of USAID funding and the selection of applicants is subject to USAID approval.
1. Chief Of Party
The COP will work with Save the Children’s existing country office, but will be solely responsible for the overall management of this USAID award. Requirements: Advanced degree in International Relations, Public Health, or related field. Minimum of 10 years of field-based experience managing large and complex, multi-partner development programs, especially in Sub- Saharan Africa, preferably Zimbabwe.
2. Social Service Systems Strengthening Advisor (SSSS Advisor): The primary role of the SSSS Advisor is to provide technical assistance to OVC programming with emphasis on strengthening social service systems in the target districts. Requirements: Advanced degrees in Social Work and Public Health or related fields, experience in OVC programming and a minimum of seven years’ experience in international development either as a technical advisor or social services, health program manager, preferably in Zimbabwe.
3. Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor(M&E Advisor)
The M&E Advisor will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of the program monitoring and evaluation framework and information system to track delivery against outputs, outcomes and impacts. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Informatics, International Relations or other relevant discipline, a minimum of seven years’ experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation activities for complex programs in developing countries. Previous experience on USAID programs and health-focused programs preferred.
4. Finance Director( FD)
The FD will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial and administrative management and other operational duties for this grant funded by USAID in Zimbabwe. Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or other relevant field is required. A minimum of ten years’ experience in financial management for large and complex programs funded by the US Government, of which at least five years were working in the field of international development.
